What To Expect During Worship

Trinity is a joyful space where you can come as you are.

Our worship is casually liturgical, using a weekly rhythm that incorporates piano and pipe organ,

as well as other instruments, to create a variety of music styles throughout the year.

Children are warmly welcomed and encouraged to participate actively or by simply being present. We have activity and Lego bags at the entrances, and a library only a few steps from worship that offers a comfy chair, stuffed animals, and age-appropriate books for when a little extra space is needed.

If you have mobility concerns, we have a lift that is staffed by trained operators to get you to every floor in our building. When you arrive, let one of our greeters at the doors know your needs, and they will assist you.

What do you believe?

Here are our Core Values.

What’s the history of Trinity?

We’ve been around since 1846, and in this (our third) building since the 1950’s. You can learn more on our History page.

Who works at Trinity?

Meet Trinity’s talented, dedicated staff here.

When is worship?

Worship services are Saturday evenings, 5:30 p.m., and Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. There are online options, too. Learn more here.

What is ``evangelical?``

The term “evangelical” comes from the Greek word for “gospel,” which means good news. For Trinity, it simply means that we believe in the good news of Jesus Christ.

Are kids welcome? What do you offer for kids?

Kids are welcome in the worship service and we have Activity Bags with quiet toys, and Lego bags, at the entrances. There’s also a library just outside the worship space with books and a comfy chair, if you need to step out of the service for a bit. Sunday School for kids aged 6 through 12 begins at 10:30, after worship.

How should I dress for a worship service?

Come as you are. All are welcome.

What is the ELCA?

Trinity is a congregation of the ELCA, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and we share beliefs and practices. Here’s a statement from the ELCA: “This is Christ’s church. There is a place for you here. We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person–questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God’s work in Christ’s name for the life of the world.” You can learn more about the ELCA at elca.org.

Do you do weddings, funerals, etc.? Can I rent space?

Trinity is available to members and non-members for weddings, funerals, meetings, and events, per our policies, and with the approval of the Church Council. You can find our policies here. Start with a conversation with our Pastor.
